At present, advanced leds can supply localized lighting for road lighting/comfort/security applications in parks, public areas, car park ticket machines etc where lighting would not normally be possible.
With recent increases in solar cell efficiency, combined with high efficiency charging and energy management technologies, we have now developed solar powered LED street lights.
